Understanding Local Device Storage vs Cookies
Traditional websites rely on HTTP cookies sent back and forth with every server request. As a modern Progressive Web App, Duck Dash Jump uses browser localStorage and the CacheStorage API to keep your high scores, lifetime jumps, coin bank, and skin selections completely local to your device.
How We Use Client Storage
- Game State & Records: Stores best scores for Classic, Midnight, Flying Flappy, and Speedrun modes.
- App Settings: Stores user toggles for audio SFX, haptic vibration, wake lock, and particle density.
- Offline Game Assets: Service Worker caches images, stylesheets, and scripts so the web app loads offline instantly.
Managing and Resetting Your Storage
You have full control over all stored data. You can clear your stored game statistics and records at any time by opening the Settings Modal within the game and clicking "Reset All", or by clearing your browser's website data.
